Betty's Tasty Buttons - Delicious Artisan Fudge, Philadelphia, PA
Spring Hills Farm in Dalton, PA
Baues Busy Bees raw honey in Royersford, PA
Birchrun Hills Farm artisan cheeses in Chester Springs, PA
Great Harvest Bread Co.

Wow thanks Holly for the great list! With these recommendations, we will definitely be able to get something on Foodzie from PA soon. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?these are seriously some of the best olives, olive oil, vinegar, cheese and other olive products that I have ever had! http://www.petroufoods.com/. Not to mention the bits of advice that George hands out at his farmer's market booth too, his Greek charm adds even more to the experience.

Inappropriate?Hi,
There are tons of amazing small food producers in Wisconsin. Alterra, based in Milwaukee, makes awesome coffee--I'm actually sitting in their main cafe, listening to them roast & process coffee. There are probably hundreds of very small local cheese places. Ellsworth Co-op creamery has the best cheese curds in the world. I can't remember the name of the place that makes the cheddar I usually get, but you should definitely look into offering Wisconsin cheddar cheese. -
Hi Marina, Stay very tuned. Some will be coming very soon to Foodzie, both coffee and cheddar. You're a mind reader. We adore all of the great food from Wisconsin so we're happy to hear any other great ideas. You can also email me at susie@foodzie.com. Thanks so much...nowhere better than a cafe with good coffee to be perusing Foodzie! :) -
Inappropriate?I would love to see VSpicery from Tampa, Fl listed on Foodzie. They are a gourmet shop that offers fresh, high-quality herbs, spices, oils, vinegars, salts, peppers, honey, and much more. Everything I have ever tried from VSpicery is top notch, without hurting your wallet. They also have a great selection of fabulously flavorful culinary rubs that will make each meal a delight to the senses.

Inappropriate?I just discovered Greyston Bakery (http://www.greystonbakery.com/) and GT's Kombucha (http://www.gtskombucha.com/).

Inappropriate?Food for Thought in Honor Michigan: the BEST jams and preserves - unbeatable is the Autumn Berry jam - very high in licopenes and Michigan is one of the few states, I believe, where these berries grow.
-
Love the idea! Michigan has fabulous food and such interesting berries. Thanks so much! -
Wow that is such a cool find with a great Kentucky flavor. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Clear Flour Bakery in Boston is like all of the photographs of Peter Reinhart's "The Baker's Apprentice" on shelves.
The Hungry Ghost Bakery in Northampton, MA has been borrowing pieces of land from people in the community to grow heirloom wheat. All of their bread is hearty sourdough that feels like the essence of life.
I’m excited
-
Nice!! I'll look forward to speaking with them. I know what you mean when you describe a hearty bread that way. -
Inappropriate?I recommend Chicago Honey Coop:
http://www.chicagohoneycoop.com/ -
Love it! Funny I just read an article in the Chicago Tribune about honey cake in which they were talking about local honey, so this is a nice coincidence :) -
It turns out they're short on honey and only selling at the farmer's market. So you're lucky if you're in Chicago! -
Inappropriate?still thinking you need to check out Food for THought
in Michigan - awesome products esp the Autumn Berry jam - delic!!!
foodforthought.net -
Thanks Susan. I had a good chat with them and appreciate the idea! Would love to hear any more that come to mind (or come to mouth!)
