2006 Ford Taurus - Power Door Lock Question
I own a 2006 Ford Taurus. When I put the car in drive all 4 of the doors lock after the car starts moving. When I put the car in park, none of the doors unlock. When I get out of the car and try to open one of the other 3 doors, the doors are locked. Is there a way to get the doors to all unlock when I put the car in park or when I get out of the driver's side door? I find it very inconvenient to have to hit the power unlock every time I get out of the car to access other doors. Thanks

Inappropriate? The stay lock feature is a safety feature to prevent unwanted access through the passenger doors when parked. With the Autolock feature activated (default setting) you'll need to press the unlock button (either inside the vehicle or on your key FOB) to unlock all the doors after you put the car in park.
You can deactivate the Autolock feature which will stop your doors from auto-locking when you put the vehicle into gear. However, whether activated or deactivated the system will not automatically unlock the passenger doors when you stop the car. But with Autolock disabled, if you drive with the doors unlocked, they will remain unlocked when you park the vehicle.
The instructions for deactivating/reactivating Autolock are in your Owner's manual under "Locks and Security" starting on page 63. If you can't find your owners manual you can find a copy at www.genuineservice.com. Just enter the year and model of your vehicle and then choose "Owners Manual". Thanks.
