I suspect there's people entering pre-existing places again just to get the extra five points. In Boston, I've noticed a lot of the duplicates are entered by people who have a lot of check-ins, a decent amount of points in the leaderboard, and should really know better...so I suspect they're doing it as a cheat.

Inappropriate?Note that I've been going through and proactively cleaning up all of the duplicates, standardizing names and entering accurate address info for the TTC stations and Starbucks locations, as well as anything else I happen across as I'm wandering about. I'm flagging duplicates that I come across int he process, but I'm only a Level 1 Superuser at this point, so I can flag duplicates, but can't actually merge them yet.
