Fix autoforwarding from search!
Have search not autoforward to venues, or at least have something similar to wikipedia, and offer a link with text like "Did you mean a different Starbucks?", which will take you to a real search for places containing the word you searched for initially. It will also make it WAY easier for power users to spend 10-15 minutes searching common venues and help clean up & merge listings!

Inappropriate?Agreed. I'm going to work on this today.

Inappropriate?Sweet! This will make it easier for me to fix things like the duplicate 24th mission bart station someone created today ;)

Inappropriate?I know it's only been a week, but any updates?

Inappropriate?Hmm have you tried recently? We made a bunch of changes to the way we handle chains and this should be greatly improved.
If not, ping me with the query / city and I'll take a look! -
Inappropriate?Whoops, I didn't think to even try it out since I hadn't heard back. I should have checked first, sorry!
While this actually makes it so that search queries are shown for ALL cases, it seems like you might have swung the pendulum too far for most users. It might be a better idea to send people to pages if you are (somewhat) confident you knew what they meant, but offer some kind of (yellow backgrounded? red backgrounded? orange backgrounded?) text that says "Were you looking for someplace else...?" that would send you to the full search query. That way for specific queries, people don't need extra clicks.
