I don't recognize someone who wants to add me, can I message them?

Someone tried to add me as a friend, but l have no idea who they are. I just can't tell from their profile. It'd be really awesome if I could send them a private message, like "I was so drunk I don't remember you, are you cute?"

Myspace makes this really easy - on the friends add page, you can send them a message. Copy that feature please? :)
