I would like it if I could add venues on the iPhone app
I love the app, but it would make it much easier to be able to add new venues via the iphone app. I would be able to add more ToDo's and probably be the Mayor of more places if this were the case.

Inappropriate?agree, the play4square site on the iphone browser is a bit hard to navigate -- an iphone optimized version of the site might help that.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Agreed. Simply adding the name of a venue is shortsighted. The app is in need of an update to address (no pun intended) this problem.

You can create new venues on the iPhone app. Simply add the location, enter the address, phone number, etc. as desired, and you will be prompted, "Would you like to add this location as a new venue?" Click "yes" and voilà. -
Jay, when I tap the "Not in list" button, it takes me to a screen where I can ONLY input the name of the venue. My only option afterward is to leave a shout, and then check in. Unless I'm on crack, I'm completely missing any screen that allows the details of a new location to be added. -
The details are added on the next screen after you submit that first one. -
Inappropriate?^ What PDelahanty said.
You have to enter the name, and then check into that place. Only then will you be offered the option to add the location as a venue.

this is one of the best points

...and make sure when it asks if you want to add it as a new venue, select "Yes". Selecting "Not now" will only mark your check-in as a shout and not actually add anything. -
Great! Thanks guys- -
Inappropriate? That said, this does not always work. For example today, I went to eat at IHOP. My IHOP wasn't in the list so I chose "not in the list" and then when I typed in IHOP, rather than asking for the address it just used the details from an IHOP in another area.
This does need to be refined for the app to be more seamless. I love foursquare and love helping out by adding new venues, but it needs to be easier and more intuitive.
I’m frustrated
