Inappropriate?This is by design, as you can see we shade checkins in cities other than where you currently are, but in general we think that people want to see their whole history when looking at this page otherwise it just looks like they weren't doing anything at all on days when they were traveling.
We could maybe add some filtering options, but I'm not sure how much they would be used. -

Inappropriate?Ya, the city dropdown on the bottom right is not a filter. You'll see that dropdown on every page, and it can be used to switch you to a different foursquare city.
