Invalid Venue Id problems with Android
Whenever trying to add a location to the Foursquare Android application I get "Invalid Venue Id" and then redirected to the places around me.
I've tried adding the place more than once, and also tried removing the application and adding it again.
This happened Friday evening and last night, I've missed out on a lot of points. :(

Inappropriate?I have had this too. It seems like it might have something to do with making a venue with the same name as another venue (maybe only within the context of a certain "city"). I was at Smokey Bones tonight in Stoughton, MA. There is already a Smokey Bones in Tyngsboro, MA (because it is a restaurant chain). I tried to enter "Smokey Bones" and got the Invalid VenueID message. But then I entered it as "Smokey Bones Barbeque & Grill" and it accepted it. That seems to be a decent work-around for now if you need to get a venue in there.

Inappropriate?Yes, duplicates is generally the reason people see this problem. The app should be providing a small "toast" notification explaining exactly why it failed to add the venue.
If you can provide any additional information about the problem I'll see if there is anything more I can do to solve the issue.1 Comment

For starters what was the venue you were trying to add (name, address, etc)? Second, what exactly did the toast say, "Invalid Venue?" perhaps?
