no points for new venues?
Users should get points for checking into a non-existing venue if they go back and add it as a venue later - as it stands there's no motivation to add venues because you get no points, and encourages cheating by checking into an existing venue down the street instead

Inappropriate?I've been going through the trouble of checking in at the non-existing venue on my iPhone w/ the Foursquare app. Logging into Foursquare.com, creating the venue in Safari. Then checking back in at the newly created venue with the Foursquare app. Then deleting my extraneous checkin...

Inappropriate?I'm all for this... how about double points for adding a place... it's a real pain in the ass to do it well. -
Inappropriate?After playing for a while, I think giving points for adding venues is just another way for abuse to happen.
What if when a venue is added by a user show "Added by Username" and their pic on the venue. Also give other users ability to vote on whether venue is accurate. Give a badge for people who enter a certain number of high-quality venues.
Or just build this on top of Brightkite who seem to have basically solved the problem already
