Is there a way to sync just one folder of my bookmarks and leave the rest alone? What I'm wanting to do is your Foxmarks to basically 'send' links from work to home and vice versa. Is this possible with Foxmarks? Thanks!
We just launched a beta for Password Synchronization! Foxmarks can now keep your passwords as well as your bookmarks in sync between computers. We know that many of you have been asking for this feature and we've been listening.
I installed Foxmarks at home and the on this pc. I could not locate any of my Bookmarks. On shutting down Firefox A box reported Bookmarks were uploaded from another pc and do I want to download them. Clicking Yes, I got nothing.
Foxmarks was installed at home in mid July. This pc yesterday.
Any suggestion?
try to use foxmark on my mobile phone (Samsung) but get no access with my username und password. I have tried it several times and theres no hint, what I have made wrong. Just the site with the empty login-form.
I recently reorganised my bookmarks, after switching computers Foxmarks is now trying to sync all the changes across to my browser (latest version of FF with the latest Foxmarks). This would be fine, but it's freezing Firefox and this isn't the first time its done this but this time it seems serious in that Firefox has been frozen for a while.
Firefox is currently stuck at around 50% processor usage and more worryingly there seems to be a huge memory leak which has been growing for the past 17 minutes of cpu time, all the way up to 412mb of memory. It has just unfrozen, but this is an irritating problem that needs solving, the browser is totally unusuble whilst Foxmarks is doing it automatic sync on start. Why can't Foxmarks do its work in the background without essentially crashing the browser?
Upgraded to Firefox 3. Asked to synchronize my bookmarks, I gave the wrong password. Now I get an "unauthorized" message every time I launch Firefox and can't get to a place to give the right password. I press continue and the error message recycles. Please advise.
First of all, thanks for the great work. I really enjoy Foxmarks!
I'd like to see 2 new features in future release:
1) When creating profiles, I'd like to be able to select a sub folder.
For example, If I have a main folder called MyProjects containing Company1Project and Company2Project. I'd like to create 2 profiles, one for company1 including MyProjects/Company1Project and one for company2 including MyProjects/Company2Project bookmarks.
I could also have an option to indicate if the full hierarchy tree folder should be taken into account or just the selected folder.
This would allow to have a cleaner bookmark ordering on the server.
2) The second functionality also concern the profiles. I'd like to be able to make a profile that includes another profile OR to be able to select multiple profiles from firefox.
For example, I could select various bookmarks in a "common" profile and make a "Work" profile that includes "Common" plus work related bookmarks. OR from Firefox, select "Common" AND "Work" bookmarks.
Nokia N-Series smartphones are STILL unable to login to foxmarks.com (even via the mobile portal), because of a problem that's been ongoing since at least Jan 2008 (maybe before). The N95 is Nokia's flagship smartphone. It is extremely popular, technically profound and runs Apple's Webkit (the core of the Safari browser), which is capable of storing cookies, running Javascript, and displaying webpages the way they were intended (not as crippled mobile versions). But if it can't login to Foxmarks, then Foxmarks goes from brilliant to useless. It would be nice to know if you're working on the problem so Nokia users can dump Foxmarks and move onto something else (which nobody wants to do if you ARE working on it because Foxmarks is otherwise great).
Yes, the firmware is bang up to date. So what's going on? As this is just a login issue, are you unable to get hold of the hardware so you can troubleshoot? Can I (and other Nokia users) help in that regard? I can certainly get a few together for you. Seven months is an awful long time to be fixing something on the server side that seems so trivial.
online sync profile feature for managing profiles gives this error "An unknown synchronization error occurred. Sometimes reloading this page will fix the problem. If not, please try again later. Email support for more information. " when i tried to deselect some bookmarks from my home profile. i'm running firefox 2.x
Ever since I upgraded to V3 Fomarks won't install. The install says its works and asks me to reload FF and when it comes back Foxmarks doesn't appear in the extensions list. I do not get any error when installing.
Hi,
I have FF 3.0.1 (Czech) and Foxmarks 2.1.0.12 (Czech). If I right click on the icon in right bottom corner and select "Status..." a window pop-up with time of last sync.
The time is wrong. I see this: "Last synchronization: 9 September 5:17" but The last sync was 2 September 5:15 (both pm).
There is one week and two minutes more time.
When logging on in my.foxmarks.com, I get the following error:
"Bookmarks unavailable
You have no bookmarks on the server. If you just installed the Foxmarks extension, go back to the Setup Wizard to synchronize bookmarks from your browser.
If you haven't installed the Foxmarks extension yet, install it now.
Once you have finished setting up the Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer extension, reload this page."
However, the firefox extension in Firefox 3 works just fine and everything seems to be synchronized.
Is it possible that the GUI does not communicate correctly in my account?
I often work in places where I cannot use Firefox, let alone extensions.
What would be useful would be to have an official Foxmarks gadget to have on my iGoogle page so that I can still use my bookmarks without having to install anything.
