"An unknown synchronisation error has occurred"
Occasionally, I am getting an error which leaves me with an inability to sync. I use Xmarks on 2 PCs, a desktop and laptop. On both machines, I have Xmarks for both Firefox (my primary browser at v3.0.10) and for IE (IE7). Both PCs are XP. On the Desktop PC, I also sync my Windows mobile phone through Activesync (Windows Mobile 6). The only way I can get round this is to either download or upload, doing a full overwrite.
The problem seems to occur (not every time) when I sync my mobile to the desktop. On the times when I don't sync my phone for a prolonged period, I don't seem to get the error. Last night I synched my phone, shut down etc. When I came back today, the error is on the screen.

It just says "Problem Synching, Synchronisation error, an unknown synchronisation error has occurred" on the Xmarks Setting/Status Screen

Inappropriate?Hey StuC,
I apologize for the delayed response. Thanks for the details in your post, but unfortunately the "Callback ({blah blah blah)" area of your logfile is an important piece of the puzzle. If you can post the logfile again, that would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks -
Hey, what happened to my comment? I deleted a double post and now are both gone.
Anyway, I have the same problem as StuC. Two PCs, one works fine, the other throw everytime a unknown error. This are the last lines of my error log:
[2009-07-24 16:19:29] >>> Sync: Executing delmoveout(local) on ({action:"delete", nid:"fx7o5zls-5", args:(void 0), deleted:["fx7o5zls-5", "fx7o5zls-22", "fx7o5zls-a0", "fx7o5zls-a1", "fx7o5zls-a2", "fx7o5zls-a3", "fx7o5zls-a4"]}) vs. ({action:"move", nid:"fx7o5zls-5", args:{pnid:"fx87tlmg-0", bnid:null}})
[2009-07-24 16:19:29] Synchronization failed. Error is (new Error("NearestAncestor failed accessing fx87tlmg-0", "chrome://foxmarks/content/foxmarks-core.js", 801))
[2009-07-24 16:19:29] Returned error: Fehler beim Synchronisieren(4)
[2009-07-24 16:19:29] Will retry at Sat Jul 25 2009 00:19:42 GMT+0200
The complete log is 2.1MB large. If you need it complete i can send it as email. Any help is appreciated.
