Bookmarks download in FF 3.5 on Win 7 Pro 64 bit machine hang
I installed fresh Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Installed latest stable Firefox 3.5. Installed Xmarks plugin. Chose to download bookmarks instead of syncing them. Synchronization continued indefinitely . I cancelled it. It actually downloaded most of bookmarks, but not all of them. Tried several times. Finally I deleted all the existing Firefox bookmarks and risked to hit synchronization instead of downloading. It went smoothly.
IE 8 bookmarks sync on the same Win 7 Pro 64 bit machine worked as expected.
A bit later I got a message in Firefox on my other machine (Win XP) that bookmarks suddenly got two times smaller (it said something about rare Firefox bug). I downloaded bookmarks from Xmarks server and they are correct.

Inappropriate? Now I have a different issue on another Win 7 64 bit machine: I cannot install Xmarks on latest FF 3.5 (Xmarks for IE installed fine).
I backed up Firefox profile using MozBackup, I installed a fresh Windows
7 64 bit, restored my profiles. Xmarks (I had latest FF beta) were
listed in "Add-Ons" list, but no Xmarks icon were present in a bottom
right corner of FF. I uninstalled Xmarks and tried to reinstall it.
However, I'm getting error now:
Firefox could not install the file at https://static.xmarks.com/clients/fir...
because: Unexpected installation error
Review the Error Console log for more details

In Error Console log what I found was:
Error: e.location.getItemLocation(e.id) is undefined
Source File: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js
Line: 4116
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Nope. I'm not having exactly the same problem, every time I try to install Xmarks for Firefox 3.5 (Win 7 64-bit) it just sits there doing nothing. Actually I think I can see it smirking - is that what a fox looks like when it smirks? Anyhow, no sign of any Xmarks
-
Inappropriate?Well, Xmarks customer support emails me and said this 'unknown error' problem is not Xmarks specific and has a known solution. Thanks, guys!
