Inappropriate? Are you using version 0.9.60? We released an update yesterday (0.9.61) that should fix this problem. You can upgrade by clicking the check for updates button on the advanced dialog. Let me know if you're still having issues after upgrading!

Thanks Colin - Problem solved. -
Inappropriate? Thanks so much. That seems to have solved the problem. I am really looking forward to having both browsers sync'd!! wonderful product
I’m happy

Inappropriate? How do you get to the advanced dialog???
-
Inappropriate?"Advanced" should be an option in the Foxmarks Settings dialog.
-
Inappropriate?I have updated to 0.9.61 and still have this problem. When I uninstalled/reinstalled, my username/password was accepted without problem. It is also accepted without problem using Firefox sync. However, I still cannot get IE to sync. My username/password was accepted one time but now it will not work.

We just released 0.9.65 a few minutes ago. Can you try upgrading to that and seeing if it clears things up for you? -
Inappropriate?Update t 0.9.65 fixed the problem at first, but now I still cannot sync.
Additionally, I now get constant messages from Foxmarks of various sync conflicts. These are usually of a Favorite names "---" or "Unsorted Bookmarks". I delete these favorites, which get created in great number, but they come back again. -
Can you try doing a download from the advanced dialog to see if that clears up the conflicts you're seeing? -
Inappropriate? This appears to have stopped the problem, partially. I don't get the constant sync conflict messages and sync is successful. I'm still getting Favorites created named "---" or "Unsorted Bookmarks" however. Also, I am getting duplicates of an apparently random set of Favorites created. I have not been able to detect any pattern to this behavior, although there were a lot of duplicates in my Bookmarks Toolbar from Firefox and in the Links folder in IE.
I’m still hanging in there!
-
Inappropriate? The "---" Firefox separators and "Unsorted Bookmarks" is a folder created by Firefox. We used to hide these things but they were causing reorder issues so we've been forced to temporarily show them all again. It's a little annoying but we are working on a better way to hide them in a way that doesn't mess up your bookmark order.
How many duplicates do you see? Are there more still being created or was it a one time thing? -
Inappropriate?Since I installed the most recent version of Foxmarks, I think for both IE and Firefox but I'm not sure (sorry), I have not had any "---" or "Unsorted Bookmarks" problems. It also appears the duplicate problem has gone away. I will, however, describe it:
The duplicates issue appears to have been a one time thing and it only appeared in IE. About half of my bookmarks were duplicated. It all occurred in just some individual folders and there was no duplication of just some bookmarks in a folder, it was always all bookmarks in the folder or none at all. Once I deleted the duplicates, they did not reappear. -
Inappropriate? The Simple work around for this is this till foxmarks comes up with a better fix,
Create 2 Profiles Call them. IE and Firefox
In the IE Profile Uncheck all the Separators
and Leave FF profile as is. now goto each Foxmarks Plugins and make sure you tell it its appropriate profile to sync.
But before you sync do this just encase your stuff is messed up. Fix everything the way you want it in FF first. Then do a FORCED upload to the server. Then do a FORCED download with IE.
Now here is the catch. if anytime after this you sync with IE. And IE alphabetizes your Toolbar.. well it messes your toolbars up when you sync in FF. So If someone can tell me how to tell IE not to Alphabetize my tool bar this fix will work wonderfully. Im not an IE fan so i dont know all the ins-and outs.
So until i find a workaround on the toolbar in IE alphabetizing I have autosync turned off in IE.
I’m Happy

Thanks for providing the work around, glad you were able to figure something out! The version we released last night (0.9.80) should hopefully fix IE alphabetizing your bookmarks. Let me know if you're still having problems after upgrading!
