Continuous Growl Notifications or Unnecessary sync loop.
Growl notifications are popping up about every 10-20 min. stating the foxmarks sync has been completed. This occurs without making any changes to bookmarks in safari or firefox. Sync appears to have been completed successfully. Not sure if it is continuously syncing or if its an issue with the growl notification system. Running latest version of both browsers, also have 1password installed, actively using the safari bookmark password feature.

Inappropriate?Hi 8asic,
We check with the server every 15 minutes to see if there are changes to grab - that's the notification you are seeing - whether or not there were changes. If you prefer to not see this you can turn it off in the preferences. This is really for people who want to see a heartbeat - the menulet icon will change if there are errors to take a note of, so you still get a discrete indication of important state changes. Given that most folks want sync to be silent in the background, turning off growl makes sense.

Inappropriate?Makes sense. Close it out. Maybe have growl turned off by default could prevent other concerns in the future.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?I like that idea. We'll mull it over :)

Inappropriate? As I disabled the menubar icon (too much clutter in it already), I think a Growl notification should appears only when a synchronization fails. Otherwise it should sync silently.
-
Inappropriate?I have similar problem, bookmarks get synchronized without any change in them. For example after I force sync using "Synchronize Now" from menu bar, right after the sync menubar icon shows yellow star. I suppose there should be none, because sync was finished just a while ago and no changes in bookmarks were made.
I am using MobileMe, but not for bookmarks, just for Calendar and Contacts ("Bookmarks" checkbox in MobileMe preferences is unchecked). -
Inappropriate?Lami: I think your problem is being discussed in this thread:

Inappropriate?Since Max's solution seems to fix this issue, marking as "Solved".

Inappropriate?Oh I see, didn't notice the problem is marked as fixed. In the comments I saw 2 separate issues. I will watch the other thread you mentioned. Thank you.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I'd like to see a notification only when there was something to actually sync. Perhaps the preference for Growl notifications could be something like "errors only", "activity only", or "every time"...?
I’m cool
