Does the new xmarks for safari(1.1.0) fix the sync issues in safari 4 beta?
Does the new xmarks for safari(1.1.0) fix the sync issues in safari 4 beta? i looked at the download page xmarks for safari and i was wondering if the new update(1.1.0) fix some bookmark issues in safari 4 beta? because i still see it supports only safari 3. I know it does sync in safari 4 beta but its still buggy and i was just wondering if the update addresses "some" fixes for safari 4 beta. i come on here often to see when it is fully supported. i dont know if you noticed i just want to be aware i wont lose any bookmarks if there is still issues for safari 4 beta. Hope i make any sense. THANKS ANYWAYS!

Inappropriate?Hi Murph,
The Xmarks for Safari 1.1.0 release does not fix the sync issues some people are seeing with Safari Beta 4. This release fixes some unrelated bugs, makes error diagnostics much easier, and adds (optional) discovery features to Safari. -
Inappropriate?I assume from this answer that bookmarks in folders in Safari are still not sync'd and that bookmarks still have to be in the bookmarks bar or bookmarks menu ?
and if so Any update on when this needed feature will be added? -
Technically Chuck's answer didn't address that point, but you're correct, that feature hasn't been added yet. See this topic for more information:

Inappropriate?Xmarks didn't just not sync my Safari 4 bookmark folders, it wiped them out entirely. Is this what people mean by "sync issues" or "bugs", and is it being looked at?
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Morganbird - The sync bug in Safari Beta 4 is that sometimes updates to the Apple bookmark storage system are not picked up by the browser. So I'm very concerned to hear about your situation. The sync application goes out of its way to not hurt your bookmarks. Are you sure you didn't do a "download" which overwrites your Safari bookmarks with what's on the server? Have you tried restarting Safari?
-
Inappropriate?I just restarted Safari and have seen no change. I haven't done a manual download, and I doubt I would have picked that option when I first started xmarks.
Besides, I've only installed xmarks for Safari and the Firefox add-on on one machine, and Firefox didn't have any bookmarks in it besides the defaults. There are still some bookmarks in Safari from before xmarks, which suggests I didn't just do a download since then they'd *all* be gone. I had probably 8 or 10 folders, none of which are there anymore, and I can't say for sure, but just eyeballing it it looks like the ones left are the ones that weren't sorted into folders.
Luckily, I hadn't been using this Mac or Safari 4 very long before this happened, so I didn't have much to lose. Also, I think they may all still exist in /Users/xxxxx/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/Bookmarks for some reason, but those will take awhile to go through. -
Inappropriate?Okay, apparently I didn't look hard enough before, but it seems the folders are still there, but they were removed from my bookmarks menu and were not synced by xmarks. Perhaps this is intended? Seems an odd choice, so I hope it's considered a bug.
