Does Xmarks work with IE8 and Windows 7 64 bit ?
Just wondering how well this works so far with IE8 and windows 7 64 bit, and is there anything I should be aware of?

Inappropriate?I haven't had a chance to try it out myself yet, but I think we've had a user or two write in to tell us that it worked for them. If you try it out I'd love to know how it goes! :)

Awesome, great job folks. Works great!! -
Inappropriate?OK, so I'm not 100% on the lingo, but if Windows 7 = Vista, then yes, they play well together (much better than IE8 & XP). I've got xmarks for IE 1.0.11 with IE8 and Vista 64 on my laptop, and have yet to have a problem with them being compatible. The only issues I have are fairly minor ones that can't be helped due to the way IE works and how xmarks has to integrate with it. But no problems there with login or syncing.

Kelly, Win7 is the next flavor of Microsoft Operating Systems. Some refer to it as "Vista the way it should have been!" It is much better, faster, and a few new bells and whistles with a Mac like style. Definitely a "must have" for Vista users as the speed boost is awesome. Best to backup your data and do a clean install (which can be done from upgrade disks if you have the original Vista disks). -
Inappropriate?Xmarks does indeed work well with IE8 and Win7. No problems at all on 1 desktop and laptop computer running this that had no favorites but got mine that had been synced from other machines. I have another desktop to try that already has a large amount of favorites on it that have never been syncronized. I'll drop back and post a note on how that goes in a couple of weeks.

Inappropriate?I can't get it to install on my new XPS 8000 running Win 7 Home Premium. The firefox addon worked fine, but when trying to install on IE8, it tells me I need administrator privileges even when I'm signed in as the administrator.

There was a bug in one of the recent installers, can you try getting 1.1.3 from the download page and see if that fixes things? http://download.xmarks.com/download/ie -
Thanks! Worked great! -
Inappropriate?Just installed xmarks for IE v1.1.3 on new laptop running Windows 7 Home and it seemed to work for a day, but when I removed a lot of old addresses and it didn't want to sync because of so many changes but I Okayed it to go ahead and then I got this:
Unexpected error during synchronization. XmarksException [source: internal. id:
-50]: Conflict: duplicate nids detected on insert NrdLn1: , bnid:Ff0Hb2,
bnid: Cf0Hb2
Uninstalled Xmarks and reinstalled then ran sync and the same error?
Anybody have a similar problem? Any soultions?

You should be able to get things working again by going to the advanced Xmarks settings dialog and starting a download. That should reset everything correctly. -
Inappropriate?Simply downloading in the advanced Xmarks settings does not fix this problem. Tried removing Xmarks and reinstalling but still the same result. Is there a way to COMPLETELY uninstall Xmarks so it can be reinstalled correctly???

The problem you're running into is when Xmarks attempts to process your IE Favorites. Unfortunately reinstalling Xmarks doesn't change anything because after you reinstall it's still trying to access the same set of Favorites that were causing it issues before. If you send an email to support@xmarks.com with your username (and include my name too) I can try to reproduce the problem on my machine. -
Inappropriate?I am having the same issue. Mine is 2 parts, one in IE and one in Firefox. The issue in IE is that it seems to be adding blank folders and doubling up bookmarks sometimes but mostly, when I restored for a good backup html file and synced form my win7 32 bit version of firefox it won't download to my Xmarks IE on my win7 64bit version. Just keeps asking me to merge or download, I choose download and it keeps asking. Prior to that it just always had an error that sync failed.
Now for the FIrefox issue, also on my win7 x64 xmarks will not install, at all. It acts like it is going to install, it asks me to restart firefox, on the restart... not xmarks goodness. As if it never happened.
I’m flustered.
