Firefox synchronizes but sync window doesn't close/stop

When I synchronize to the server from Firefox 3.5, it seems that what's on the server gets brought into Firefox, but I have to eventually cancel the synchronization window because it keeps on going endlessly without stopping by itself.
 
sad I’m feeling a little bit of ugh

    Hey Dan,

    Can you post the last 10 lines or so of your logfile? That would help me out a lot. To open your logfile go here:

    Firefox->Tools->Xmarks->Xmarks Settings->Advanced->Show Logfile

    This is from my Mac. I'm getting the same problem with Firefox on my PC. And also having problems with Safari on my Mac too. Xmarks seems buggy.

    Thanks for the update. Can you try a manual download? It is here:

    Firefox->Tools->Xmarks->Xmarks Settings->Advanced->Download.

    Let me know if that clears things up for you.

    I tried the manual download and it worked in terms of pulling in the bookmarks, but it didn't work in a smooth way because it never stopped on it's own (I had to click "cancel") and furthermore the settings main window kept tellling me my password was wrong even though it wasn't.

    Hey Dan,

    Thanks for the update. I'd suggest creating a new Firefox profile and starting fresh. Directions are listed here:

    After installing Xmarks, you should be back up and running. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Why would that happen not only on both Firefox on my PC and Firefox on my Mac but also now Safari on my Mac? See below re the latter:
