I received the following error message: "Foxmarks: Error: Unknown error 501". What does it mean and how do I resolve it?

This error is normally only seen by users who are using Foxmarks with their own server. It is the 501 HTTP error code and means that the method is not implemented or is not recognized.

It has been seen in the past when using Microsoft IIS 6.0 as the server and WebDAV is not enabled.

If that is the case, you can solve this using the following steps:
1. Start Internet Services Manager (Start Menu, Run, inetmgr, ENTER).
2. Go to Web Service Extensions.
3. Click WebDAV once.
4. Click Allow.

this is all fine, good and dandy, but doesn't answer the question of what it does.
