Foxmarks Exceptions - bytes don't match
Getting an odd error when Foxmarks synchs. Errors says: FoxmarksException during sync [1537] attempt: FoxmarksException [1002]: actual bytes don't match expected. Running IE 7.0 on Windows XP.

Inappropriate?I have this problem as well, and now I can't sync. I think it may have started when I moved bookmarks out of alpha order and then a message came up about fixing order. I canceled and then started getting this error.

Inappropriate?I am having the same problem. Foxmarks 'kindly' sorted by bookmarks into alpha order, as soon as I started to rearrange them back the way I wanted them, this error started occurring.

Inappropriate?IE8 on Windows XP Professional SP3 32 bit. Upgraded from IE7 yesterday and upgraded to Xmarks on Firefox 3.0.8. When syncing Favorites in IE8 I also got an error relating to how they are sorted. I forget the precise error. I preceded the byte error in this thread.

Inappropriate?Me too. Seems to be quite common. No solutions? I just upgraded to IE8 on Vista Ultimate (x32) ...I can move bookmarks around by importing/exporting them, but I always have duplicates. I so excited to find this tool...until I found out it didn't work. I probably have 8 years of bookmarks saved. I have upgraded computers, and my bookmarks folders keep growing and growing. Now we have 5 computers in the house, and I work on all of them. A lot of the bookmarks are technical stuff, so it would be so cool to sync all of them. Nothing serious...they all have internet explorer. I may have a lot of dead links in there though...I wonder if that could be the problem...

Inappropriate?Hey Donna and fetchdickson,
Are you getting the exact error message as stated in the original post? If so, can you try a manual download? This will overwrite your current bookmarks in your browser, with what is on our servers, so make sure to verify your bookmarks on my.xmarks.com first.
You can perform a download here:
IE->Tools->Xmarks->Advanced->Download
If you're not getting that same error, it would be great if you can post the last 10 lines of your logfile here.
IE->Tools->Xmarks->Advanced->Show logfile
As far as duplication, it has been a difficult problem that we've been working on. We think we've fixed it in IE, but the new changes aren't reflected in the latest version of Xmarks for Firefox and Safari. The best thing to do is to login to my.xmarks.com and use our Explore and Restore feature in the Tools menu. Find your bookmarks set pre-duplication and restore them. From there, perform a download in each of your computers, so that your newly restored bookmarks overwrite your duplicate sets on each of your computers.
I hope that helps!
Thanks
