Foxmarks for IE re-orders bookmarks into alphabetical order
I am synchronising between IE7 and Safari. Whenever I sync with IE7 the bookmarks get ordered alphabetically and the re-ordered bookmarks get synchronised back to Safari. Is there any way to prevent this?
Thanks

Inappropriate?I had the opposite! I wanted to sort my bookmarks in vista.
Just right-clicked in the scrolling menu to choose.
Maye this can be undone the same way... -
Inappropriate?I suspect gigawill is correct--IE defaults to alphabetical sorting, so will re-order your bookmarks on each sync if you don't turn off alphabetical sorting there.
If you've already disabled that and still see the problem when you fix the order of your bookmarks, please let us know! For now, though, marking as "Not a problem". -
Inappropriate?Ok - will try that suggestion. How do I turn off alphabetical sorting in IE?
Thanks -
Inappropriate?gigawall said to right-click on the scrolling bookmark menu to choose. Microsoft has details for IE 6 here:

Inappropriate?Wonderful!!! so to go with this here is my post from another help thread. YEAH!! Double Fix!
The Simple work around for this is this till foxmarks comes up with a better fix,
Create 2 Profiles Call them. IE and Firefox
In the IE Profile Uncheck all the Separators
and Leave FF profile as is. now goto each Foxmarks Plugins and make sure you tell it its appropriate profile to sync.
But before you sync do this just encase your stuff is messed up. Fix everything the way you want it in FF first. Then do a FORCED upload to the server. Then do a FORCED download with IE.
Now with Alphabetizing turned off this should all work now. -
Inappropriate?Well I guess my idea of Disabling sorting in IE didnt work. Is there another way to disable Alpha Sorting besides telling IE to Autosave on Exit? My Fix above 1/2 way works now. If I can just get Alpha Sorting Turned off in IE. Rather than forcing IE to look the same everytime even though Alpha is turned on somewhere.
I’m sad

Version 0.9.80 should (hopefully) have fixed your reorder issues. Are you still seeing problems after upgrading? -
Inappropriate?HI i'm using windows 7 with IE 8 and xmarks V1.0.11
I too am unable to sort/order my bookmarks by date. in ie8 if I goto orangise bookmarks, the only option I have is sort by name, in the actual folder in explorer, if I sort by date, the modified date for all bookmarks is the last sync time so there's no go there either.. anyway else to sort by date order in IE8
I’m undecided
