By default, Ctrl-Shift-F will open the Foxmarks settings dialog, and Ctrl-Shift-S will force Foxmarks to sync with the server (a.k.a. "Sync Now"). If you'd like to change the letter used for these shortcuts, you can do so with a small amount of gymnastics:
- Visit your configuration settings by typing 'about:config' into the Firefox location bar.
- Enter 'foxmarks.shortcut' into the filter field, and you should see the two shortcuts listed. You can change any config value by selecting the entry, right-clicking, then choosing the "Modify" command from the menu--you may need to restart your browser for the change to take effect.
Note that this functionality is available starting in Foxmarks v2.1.0.10, which is currently available at the Mozilla add-ons site.

Inappropriate?Hi. I have installed FoxMarks and am running version 2.6.0
In about:config I have several FoxMarks entries but NONE for foxmarks.shortcut
Has this feature been taken out of the About:Config? If not, please detail exactly what about:config additions I can insert to add this configuration. Thanks, Steven.
I’m sad because this feature isn't well documented

Inappropriate?stevenmc: I just tried installing Foxmarks on a fresh Firefox profile and got those two about:config entries added by default. Maybe try uninstalling and re-installing Foxmarks to pick them up; otherwise, you can just create new "string" entries by right-clicking on the about:config window.
-
Inappropriate?What sort of string... foxmarks.shortcut.synchronisenow or foxmarks.shortcut.settings?
Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Sorry, stevenmc, I should've been more specific; I didn't realize this topic didn't mention the specific entity names. To create a new about:config entry:
- Open about:config in your Firefox web browser. If necessary, click the "I'll be careful" button.
- Right-click on any entry you see and select New > String
- The name of the entry will be either foxmarks.shortcut.OpenSettings or foxmarks.shortcut.SyncNow
- Click OK after entering the appropriate name
- For the value, enter the one lowercase letter you want to use for accessing that feature, then click "OK"
That should do it! Let us know if you have any further problems. -
Inappropriate?Well, it looks like Regedit in rubbish Windows.
Other FF plugins got config panels.
IMHO thats the right way
I’m anxious

Inappropriate?Xmarks does not need any keyboard shortcuts by default. Hopefully you will stop assigning them by default and leave it to people to turn them on if they need them. I find it annoying that I have to go in after installation and clean up after this plugin.
-
Inappropriate?Just installed Xmarks 3.1.0 and found that the correct settings here are located under extensions.xmarks.shortcut, so you should change it here. By default you should see:
extensions.xmarks.shortcut.OpenSettings o
extensions.xmarks.shortcut.SiteInfo n
extensions.xmarks.shortcut.SyncNow s
