I have got 2 Links folders (both can be seen as Favorites Bar on Windows Explorer)
The real one has only the meta.fm file with this content "[Xmarks]
nid=VTcBy3" beside desktop.ini and is read only.
The second one, which is synchronized with Xmarks I assume, has a space in the end of its real name and the meta.fm file with this content "[Xmarks]
nid=OMPjL
ntype=folder" beside the bookmarks.
This computer is a Win 2k3 Server Standard SP2 English with Turkish MUI, which has the IE version of 8.0.6001.18702 and also got Turkish MUI. This computer is connected first.
The second computer, which is the possible cause of this, is a Win XP Home SP3 Turkish with IE8. I couldn't look its details right now.
So, what is the cause and how to fix it? Shall I move the second one with its meta.fm to the real Links folder?
Thank you for this service, it has some drawbacks though!! :)

Inappropriate?Edit: I would like to correct that there are two Favorites Bars, which can be seen from the Favorites inside IE, but the correct content is inside another "Links" directory...

Inappropriate?Hey kgursu,
I apologize for the delayed response, we've been quite busy over here. It's difficult for us to test Xmarks for IE in foreign versions of Windows, and there has been some difficulty mapping foreign translation of "Favorites Bar" and "Links."
With that said, the easiest way to clean this up is to login to my.xmarks.com, and delete the un-necessary Favorites or links folder. The real one will be differentiated by a padlock icon in the folder displayed in my.xmarks.com. If there are bookmarks in the other folders, move them to the one with the padlock, and then perform a manual download in each of the browsers you sync with.
You can perform a manual download here:
Xmarks Settings->Advanced->Download.
I hope this helps!
Thanks,
Nate -
Inappropriate?Ok, but why not putting this option (moving multiple bookmarks) inside my.xmarks.com?
Besides, what are these meta.fm files for? -
Inappropriate?Hey kgursu,
We use the meta.fm files for the back-end of our syncing process. We are always looking to expand functionality, so I'd recommend submitting this as an "idea" on this forum.
Thanks,
Nate -
Inappropriate?Thank you!
As a sidenote: The padlock icon did not reappeared after correcting by deleting the obsolete folders for my current system. So, there is no quick fix for this right now, isn't it?
