Invalid Certificate error after upgrading to Firefox 3.5
I am getting this error after upgrading to Firefox 3.5.
discover.foxmarks.com:443 uses an invalid security certificate. This certificate is only valid for *.xmarks.com (Error c......
I have tried the following, all with no luck:
1. Change encryption to "none"
2. Reinstall xmarks--I cannot reinstall as I get the same error message and Firefox blocks the install.
Note: xmarks for IE is working fine on the same computer.
What can I do?
Thanks

Inappropriate?Hey Pat,
Can you try and uninstall and then reinstall, rather than just a reinstall? Go to: Firefox->Tools->Add-ons->Xmarks->Uninstall, After Firefox restarts, then install Xmarks again. If the error displays again, can you describe exactly when it displays, as well as post the error message in it's entirety?
Thanks a lot! Hopefully we can get this sorted out quickly. -
Inappropriate?Firefox could not install the file at
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire...
because: Signing could not be verified.

Is what I get. I have totally uninstalled and even rebooted my whole machine several times since then. I have added verified the signature is okay and everything.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hey Aynjul,
Do you have a strict firewall/proxy/anti-virus setup? -
Inappropriate?I have the same issue. It throws this error message:
login.xmarks.com:443 uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate will not be valid until 2/9/2009 4:00 PM.
(Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate)
So where do we go from here. Is it the way that 3.5 handles the certificate? Can we add a security exception? Do you need to update your certificate with Thawt?
Thanks

Inappropriate? The solution is to visit whatever https://****.xmarks.com site is giving you problems and add the certificate to your exceptions.. This solves the problem and you can encrypt whatever you like

Additionally, Firefox just released 3.5.1 and it has been repaired there too. 3.5 was full of bugs. They never should have released it.
