local version or server version ?

Same problem here, I have recently added bookmarks (after upgrading to 2.53) that come up as "Foxmarks cannot tell which version to keep". Regardless of whether I pick server or local it still gives an error on the next synch. I've tried deleting and re bookmarking the sites.

This is foxmarks 2.53 on firefox 3.03 on Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit.

Forgot to mention I'm not using my own server. I'm using Foxmarks server and it syncs 3 PC's, but I'm traveling and only playing with one laptop at the time these errors began.

that's interesting: during these days I'm syncing on a single laptop too! (my home desktop pc had an hardware failure and I'm only using my work laptop). In this condition and with the latest foxmarks, the problem started. Ah, one more thing : now it seems that foxmarks sometimes makes Firefox CRASH. It's irregular; yesterday it happened many times (after closing 2 times the tedious popup for syncing the bookmark), then I restarted the system and the problem reappeared; I could make it stop only disabling foxmarks. Today, with foxmarks re-enabled, I updated to the latest version of the plugin Colorfultabs( 3.5 -> 3.6) and firefox did not restart: it had remained stuck in memory during the semi-automatic restart operation which follows the addon update.

I have the same problem with a live bookmark (an RSS feed). I don't ever seem to be able to delete the bookmark and foxmarks always gave me the server\local question. I think the problem was an ampersand in the url that got converted to the html version

it's almost that : but the action is "insert".

This is the weird part for me. The server and local bookmarks are the same, description and URL, is there anything else I should look at being different.

Also I've tried to upload from server and that completely freezes firefox, forcing me to force close firefox in task manager. This freeze is reproducible and happens every single time.

I deleted the offending bookmark and didn't bother recreating it (enough already after days of the error warning). Problem solved. As for spinedoc, it was exactly the same in both places!

I have forced my laptop's links upload and the problem has disappeared. I still have some occasional crashes, I'm not sure if they have ceased after resolving the bookmark problem. anyway, I no longer get messages from foxmarks.

Was there ever a solution for this? I am having the same problem. It would not be easy for me to delete and re add all the offending bookmarks as there are many of them. This problem is also causing Firefox to crash on me too. It all started when I added Xmarks to a third computer.

I'm noticing this also. Not sure if it also coincided with adding Xmarks to 2nd computer. Already had it on Safari & Firefox on my Mac with Snow Leopard. Then added it to work computer's Firefox.

Think it started happening after I recently found the beta version that finally allowed Xmarks to run with Safari in Snow Leopard.

Strangely, the box is ONLY showing up in Firefox on my Mac. Not showing any problems in Safari or in Firefox on the work computer.
