Merge when "Sync" not sync but overwrite

Disappearing Bookmarks, Support?

It a really simple thing. I have read about it *EVERYWHERE* in this forum. Loosing bookmarks.

How do we *KNOW* that the bookmarks are *MERGED* and NOT overwritten when syncing? The only time "merge" is ever mentioned is in the "set-up" dialog.

It's this automatic "Merge" thing when syncing.

NEEDED: When syncing, 3 buttons: Cancel. Merge. Overwrite.
NEEDED: Preference Panel: 3 buttons: Always overwrite upload, always overwrite download, Always merge bookmarks.

I have lost bookmarks because it DID NOT SYNC BUT OVERWROTE when told to sync. A few here and a few there.

I know that it is "suppose" to merge when syncing. BUT NOW I JUST ***LOST*** 300 bookmarks when I last told it to sync, should have been DOWNLOAD & MERGE. It should have merged with the existing but did not. It DROPPED 300 bookmarks in the "merge" and overwrote existing.

-->Presuming this is what it suppose to do, ***MERGE*** UPLOAD or DOWNLOAD when instructed to sync??? RIGHT??? <--> and manually adding the missing items is not a real solution. I can manually do this between two computers.
