multiple copies of bookmarks toolbar - not syncing properly between different PC's
W
hen syncing between 3 different computers, I end up with multiple copies of "BookmarksToolbar" and "Unsorted Bookmarks" on each system.
The REAL trouble is that each system uses a different copy of the "Bookmarks Toolbar". So, from any of the 3 computers, I can "organize" my bookmarks and drag all of the bookmarks/folders out of the "wrong" place and move them to the right place. They then show up in the "real" Bookmarks toolbar for that computer. When i move to the other computers, I have to do this same step again.
Is there anyway to make xmarks realize that all of these folders with the same name are in fact the same folder on multiple systems?
Thanks, Mikey

Inappropriate?Hey Mikey,
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Mapping the Bookmarks Toolbar in Firefox with the Links or Favorites Bar in IE has been quite challenging. What version of Xmarks for IE are you using? We are working on improving the Firefox/IE relationship, but in the meantime, you'll have to restore your bookmarks.
Login to my.xmarks.com and go to the tools menu. Open Explore and Restore, where you'll be able to find a restore point where your bookmarks weren't duplicated. After that is finished, double check your bookmarks toolbar folder has all the right contents in it. In my.xmarks.com, the "real" one will be distinguishable, by a "padlock" icon displayed on it.
From there, perform a manual Download in your Firefox and IE browsers. You can do that here:
Firefox->Tools->Xmarks->Xmarks Settings->Advanced->Download.
This will overwrite your duplicated bookmarks with your freshly restored bookmarks, and should get you back up and running.
Hope this helps!
