Inappropriate?Same problem!

Inappropriate?I have the same issue. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Xmarks, but it keeps happening. (only on this computer)
When I go to Xmarks settings > current status, I get problem syncing "unknown error occurred(3)" -
Inappropriate?Yep same problem here.

Inappropriate? For me it was an add in called Fast Dial. I uninstalled it, and removed the fast dial folder in my bookmarks. Then went online to Xmarks and removed the online copies of the fast dial folder. Now XMarks works.

Inappropriate?I don't have fast dial ... too bad ...

Inappropriate?I'm seeing this same behavior as well, but only on my WinXP machine running Firefox. I don't see it at all on my Ubuntu box.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? This problem typically occurs when the bookmarks stored in the Xmarks server differ too drastically from the ones in the browser where you're getting this message. Try choosing the "download" option, although do note that this option will replace the bookmarks in your browser with the ones stored in the Xmarks server. Consequently, if you fear that those are too old, you may wish to save your in-browser bookmarks first, by exporting the bookmarks to an HTML file.

Ever hopeful, but wrong. I found that to make no difference. I believe that some kind of bookmarks can be uploaded, but not downloaded. See my fast dial comment above. Only after I removed fast dial and deleted fast dial could I get rid of this. I even tried an a new machine that had never had xmarks on it did an initial sync and then got looping new sync file detected. Once I deleted the Fast Dial folder up on the xmarks server it stopped behaving badly on all of my computers. -
Inappropriate?Downloading to each computer should work, but doesn't. The bookmarks are not drastically changed. I sent the logfile to xmarks, and the tech said that it didn't disclose the problem, however there are many plug-ins/add-ons that could be causing it. I would be nice if xmarks posted a list of these programs, such as Fast Dial.
I do not have fast dial.
I'm thinking of using Microsoft Live Mesh (or Sync) until this is solved. It works great, except that it doesn't covert Safari-Firefox bookmarks as Xmarks does.
