No tags when sharing folder?

I just started using Foxmarks and I love it. It provides a seamless experience between Firefox instances. For a long time I've been meaning to roll my own bookmark syncing & publishing solution for personal use because I couldn't find an existing service that met all my needs. Foxmarks comes the closest by a good bit.

That said, I was disappointed to see that none of the "share" options include my tags. I've probably got a few thousand bookmarks piled up, and a corresponding detailed tag vocabulary to help keep track of it all. I'd like to publish one of my folders out to my friends, complete with my tags.

I don't particularly care how I do it - plain RSS seems like the most useful and generic way but I could live with the HTML. But the lack of tags is a deal breaker.

I've been tinkering with syncing it to my domain via webdav, figuring I could use php or ruby to convert the json file into rss, but 1) that seems like a lot of extra work, 2) I'll lose some of the great features I love in Foxmarks and 3) I haven't been able to get the webdav sync working yet.

Is there some option or alternative format that I'm missing that would give me my tag data as well?

sad I’m disappointed but hopeful
