PW sync with FTP server
I upgraded to version Foxmarks 2.5. I'm using my own FTP server. As soon as I update pw with my boolmarks Foxmarks reports "new sync file found" and wants to know if I want to add or replace my bookmarls and pw.
Switching off pw sync everything is ok.

Good news, we have a fix! It's not on the official Firefox site yet (that will happen in a couple of weeks), but you can download the next version of Foxmarks that contains this fix from our website.
Download v2.5.4 to fix this issue

Are foxmark and foxmarkpw files on the server, or directories? They'd need to be files for this to work properly.
Does the "new sync file" message happen during every one of the synchronizations you included here? -
Inappropriate?- yes, both are files
- yes, this happens with each and every sync as soon as I sync PW. Sync'ing bookmarks only is fine (and there is only one client involved) -
Inappropriate?I just wanted to let you guys know that we are aware of this issue and working on the problem. Until we have a solution, I recommend that you use the previous version of Foxmarks available here.
I’m confident we'll resolve this
-
Inappropriate?Hi,
the problem seems to be that the value of foxmarks.somemiracleid.token is used for the bookmarks and the passwords. After the sync of the passwords there is an new token and a mismatch with the bookmarks serverfile.

That was an excellent clue Servidge! Thanks! We think we know what's going on now and hope to have a solution out early next week. -

Thanks for the fixed version. it seems this problem is solved. Now i get the message only when the file at the server has an other token than the local firefox. -
Inappropriate? The fix seems to work. After installing v2.5.4 I attempted a bookmarks & passwords sync and got the "new sync file found" message, but after telling it to merge the files the subsequent syncs went smoothly.
I’m moderately pleased.

Inappropriate?v2.5.4 solves the problem for me. After updated to v2.5.4, foxmarks on my FreeBSD/KDE/Firefox 3.03 setup no longer asks to merge/update every minute or so. It's been three hours of bliss (so far).
Thx for the product & the responsiveness.
I’m thankful & happy
