Remove unwanted IE Links folder
I installed foxmarks to keep my IE favorites and Firefox bookmarks in sync. When I download the bookmarks to IE 7, I get an additional folder named Links. If I delete the folder and try to resync I get an error in foxmarks. Is there a way to get rid of this unwanted Links folder?

Inappropriate?Hi,
We attempt to convert your Firefox "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder" to IE's "Links" folder. But it sounds like we're doing it wrong in this case. What version of Windows are you using? Is it a non-English version?
Also, if you open your Foxmarks log file (directions here: http://wiki.foxmarks.com/wiki/Foxmark... ) you should see a line near the top that says something like "Using localized name [Links], loaded from [vista]". What does yours say? -
Inappropriate?Hi Colin,
Thank you for your reply. I'm using the English (US) version of Windows Vista. However, I think I solved the problem by selecting a profile (Home) and saving it. After doing so I deleted the Links bookmark and it stayed away.
Thanks,
David

Good to hear! Are you syncing between IE and Firefox? I think the problem may have been that if Firefox doesn't find a "Links" folder it automatically creates a new one. This would get synchronized back to IE and you'd see a new Links folder. This is obviously annoying and we're working on improving things. Using sync profiles is a great way to work around the issue. -
Inappropriate?I too have this problem after adding IE to the mix. I have a links foulder in Firefox and can't remove it and it is being used as the toolbar folder instead of the normal one.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I am going ton uninstall my NO FireFox, and use only US FireFox, hoping that syncing will behave the same way on different machines? If that's the problem, then we have a problem!

Inappropriate?IE8 apparantly prefers to call that folder Favorites Bar.
Have you set up a Favorites Bar?
If not, it's likely to be adequate to keep that folder empty, but not try to delete it.
