Reset PIN means lost stored passwords?

I've just updated my notebook OS and had to re-install every software again. After re-installing Xmarks, I was asked to enter my PIN, which I forgot. I reset it but now I'm not able to see my old saved passwords anymore! I really lost my stored passwords???
