After investigating this issue further, we have determined that, while there is a Safari bug getting in the way of a perfect Foxmarks experience, it is mostly harmless. So we're changing our position, and are saying that yes, Foxmarks works on Safari 4 Beta for MacOS 10.5 - with the caveat about Bookmark Bar order. As with all beta software, there may prove to be other issues in Safari 4 Beta; please let us know how it goes.
There is not yet Foxmarks support for the Windows versions of Safari.
I’m confident

Inappropriate? No, Foxmarks doesn't work with Safari 4 Beta. We found one bug with Safari Version 4 (5528.16) that makes Foxmarks risky to use. If you change the order of toolbar items elsewhere and sync, those changes do not show up in Safari. This has the potential (though generally unlikely) to corrupt your bookmark data, and so we suggest holding off.
We're pretty sure this is a bug in Safari, since under the hood we're not actually talking with Safari at all, but Apple's bookmark storage system. We're following through with Apple to learn more - stay tuned!

Inappropriate?Actually, although a Mac user at home, my work machine is Windows XP - I need Foxmarks for Safari 4 for Windows XP.

Safari for Windows support is being discussed here -

Inappropriate?the bookmarks outside the "collection" side, at the "bookmarks" side doesn't get synced. but inside the "collection" side (bookmark menu and bookmark bar) is synced.
is it only a safari 4 beta issue?
-
Inappropriate?Getting a "Unable to get remote changeset" sync error.
-
Inappropriate?Update: Uninstalled Safari 4 and still get the same error message, so this isn't necessarily a beta issue. Still, help would be appreciated. I tried overwriting local Safari 3 bookmarks with server bookmkarks, but still get the changeset error.
-
allendulles: Usually a "download" will fix that error. Please consult this other topic for more details: http://getsatisfaction.com/foxmarks/t... -
Inappropriate?I installed Safari 4, then foxmarks. I only got one partial upload of bookmarks. I have some of my bookmarks under th ebookmark menu and some in the collections sidebar. None of them are getting updated and the ones that are showing at my.foxmarks.com are from the initial upload
I’m sad

I also tried to overwrite server bookmarks which has had no effect. -
Inappropriate?Hi there.
I can't synchronize anymore since I upgraded to Safari 4.
I tried to delete all my local bookmarks (purged ~/LIbrary/Safari/Bookmarks.plist and ~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari), reinstall Foxmarks and "overwrite local bookmarks with server bookmarks", but now I'm just left out with Safari's default bookmarks (Apple, Yahoo, Youtube, Wikipedia, etc...)
No problem at all with the Firefox plug-in though.
Here's my log file:

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as that problem is the only one remaining before my total switch to Safari 4 from FF ! :)
Thx a lot.

I just noticed that iTunes still correctly synchronizes my bookmarks to my iPhone. -
Inappropriate? Those of you asking about why only the Bookmarks Bar and Menu are synchronized, that's covered in full in this other topic: http://getsatisfaction.com/foxmarks/t...
I think that covers pretty much everybody except allendulles, whom I responded to above. If I'm misunderstanding anyone's problem report, please create a new topic for that issue.
Thanks! -
Hi Eric,
Before I upgraded to Safari 4, all my bookmarks were originally created with Firefox, therefore everything was correctly synchronized in the Bar and Menu folders. Then I upgraded and nothing is synced anymore.
Thanks for your insight. -

Inappropriate?Gregouniasse: Please create a new topic with more details on the precise nature of the problem, including the Foxmarks username you're synchronizing each browser against, and we'll do our best to figure out what's going on. Thanks!

Inappropriate? It won't sync with Safari 4.0.2 Macbook OSX 10.5.7 Says it can't connect to server. No problem with latest Firefox.
-
Inappropriate?any plans to make foxmarks work for Safari 4.0.2 with Snow Leopard ( OSX 10.6) ?? Would LOVE that. Thanks
I’m sad but hopeful!
-
Inappropriate?Yes, if u do get this working in 10.6.1+, please let us know, and also provide instructions on how to use in Safari, as it does not seem as obvious as in Firefox. Thx!
