Safari 4 crashes after install, failed to load plugin, SIMBL error
I installed Xmarks on Safari 4.0 and after initial install and sync it now always pops up: SIMBL Error Failed to load XMarksplugin plugin and Safari will crash right after, how can I even uninstall Xmarks and wait until this is fixed so I can in the meantime continue using Safari?

Inappropriate?Same problem as above. It's working for me fine at home using the release version of Safari 4 on OS X 10.5.7, but fails to load with a SIMBL error on the same setup at work.
I’m also frustrated

Inappropriate?I also have this question. I just don't know how to solve it and so I just use IE or firefox. How To Get Taller

Inappropriate?Hi, I had this problem (failed to load SIMBL plugin message on startup & then hang). I solved it by turning off the discovery features in the System Preferences:
Now it launches. Dunno if syncing works, as I only got Safari launched 5 minutes ago.
I’m happy

This works for me too, and syncing seems to work as well. Thanks for the tip! -
Inappropriate?I had this problem so I deleted xmarks from every place I could find it but I still get the error: " SIMBL Error Failed to load the XmarksPlugin plugin" and Safari still doesn't work.
Is it a problem that I deleted instead of un-installing it? I couldn't find the uninstall thing but found the xmarks in my applications and some libraries so I put them in the trash, restarted and shut down computer and still get the error and a crashed Safari.
The xmarks worked beautifully on my home i mac but not on my mom's mac mini. I hope Safari still works on my home i mac!
TIA for any help.

Inappropriate?melody: Re-downloading Xmarks for Safari and using the Uninstall app that's included will probably get things working for you again.
gya24jk's workaround is definitely the right way to go for everyone else as it disables all the features that require the SIMBL items. Sorry for the trouble there--we weren't prepared for Safari 4 to release so quickly! -
I am a new XMarks user. It was recommended on the net@night podcast by Leo LaPorte so I thought I would give it a try. I was really surprised when Safari froze with the Simbl error. I understand you were not the only software provider that was caught by Apple releasing Safari 4 like they did.
What bothers me now is it has been 25 days since you posted this response and it still isn't fixed. If your product proves to be the help that Leo LaPorte says it is you will be getting a lot of new users.
My initial reaction to the Simbl error was to uninstall it but being somewhat a techie I decided to search your Help where I found the workaround. There may be many who will only uninstall it and never try it again, so I encourage you to get it fixed ASAP.
