Sync to Xmarks and Own Hosted Server
Is it possible to synch to Xmarks storage and also to my own hosted server. If it is not, can you take this as feature request. I want to keep synching to Xmarks but also to my own server as a backup in case Xmarks servers die like Ma.gnolia.com or their service shuts down like myVidoop.

The company has not planned to implement this.

It's not really possible presently in an automated fashion, but then you don't need to worry about a ma.gnolia-like event since every browser you're synchronizing to is effectively backing up your bookmarks locally as well as on the Xmarks server.
If I'm overlooking some vital bit there, let me know, but I'm pretty sure you're safe just syncing with the Xmarks server.

Hmm, yes I see your point. Although I still think it would be a useful feature to have, maybe not high on priority for sure, but nice to have none the less. So if you do get around to implementing it it'd be nice. -
Roger that! I've switched this over to type:idea and if enough people hop on the bandwagon, we'll definitely consider it--for now, though, we have no immediate plans for such a feature. Thanks for the suggestion, though! -

Inappropriate?I am using xmarks and i'm a satisfied user. I also work in the ICT departement of a government agency. At work people have realised that bookmarks are essential to most employees and work processes, yet they are not available at different pc's (with different browsers) within the agency, and there is no regular backup. In addition, we want to use the free seating principle. Xmarks would be ideal, but the bookmarks contain information that cannot go outside the agency.
So we are very much interested in an xmarks solution with an in-company sync and store server. We do not expect this to be free, of course.
Any chance?
