'Sync was cancelled', no explanation why. Unsorted Favorites keep coming.
I've various problems with Xmarks, notably that it seems to be filling up my Bookmarks bar with empty folders called 'Unsorted Favorites'. But I'm also finding that in the General tab of my Xmarks Preferences, underneath the Current status it seems to be stuck on 'Canceling sync' (and it says the Last sync was over a month ago).
When I click 'Synchronize now', Xmarks gets as far as taking a snapshot of the local data store with Xmarks changes, then stops, saying 'Sync was cancelled'. Same deal if I try to change my profile. I'm also using Xmarks on my copy of Flock, which may partially explain the 'Unsorted Favorites' issue, but not why they're being generated when I haven't had Flock open for several days... I sync with MobileMe, too, but not regularly, whereas the new folders turn up constantly.

Inappropriate?I think you're seeing the same thing as mentioned in this topic:
http://getsatisfaction.com/foxmarks/t...
We're still having trouble replicating this on our end, I think, but it's interesting that you're seeing strange behavior in the General tab in the settings, too. Do you see any obvious errors in your Xmarks for Safari log?
Also, which version of Xmarks for Safari are you using? We've been updating it regularly, so uninstalling and then getting the most recent version might help.
