I would be very happy if foxmarks synchronized passwords as well as bookmarks.

Inappropriate?Wonderful for Firefox 3, but what about those still on Firefox 2 and will not upgrade in the near future?

Hi cchotlanta, as a small company it's hard for us to support lots of different platforms. Though we would love to support older browsers, we decided that we could give our users the best possible experience by focusing our efforts on the latest versions of browsers that we support.
In some cases, such as our Internet Explorer client (which is currently in alpha), we do support older versions - but that's just because there is little to no difference in supporting the two. With Firefox 2 and 3, however, the difference is large in how passwords are stored and so we decided to stick to supporting Firefox 3 only.
If you can, I highly recommend trying out Firefox 3. It has lots of great new features and is much faster and more stable than Firefox 2. -

Even being a hard-core Firefox user like myself...I wouldn't label FF2 as "old." Though Mozilla doesn't classify FF3 as BETA, there are a LOT of users who have had problems with it, a lot of standard/mainstream extensions that aren't yet FF3 compatible, and in general...a whole lot of people who have not made the switch to FF3.
Obviously, your company is free to support whatever versions it feels prudent. I certainly wouldn't falt you for that (and I'll still think Foxmarks ROCKS!)...but I *am* bothered by you or anyone else who labels FF2 as "an old version." Pleeeeeease. Cutting edge != stability. -
Hi Biscuit, I totally understand your concerns. To be clear, you can still use Foxmarks with Firefox 2, and we don't have plans to shut off support for that anytime soon. It's just that as we move forward, as a small company we have to be careful about how we allocate our resources. We figured that since the majority of our users have moved over to Firefox 3 (based on our logs) that we should spend our efforts on that front.
I hope you understand and thank you for your show of support for Foxmarks. If you have issues with Foxmarks on Firefox 2, please do write in to us here or via our help page and we'll be sure to help you out! -
Inappropriate?Thank you Biscuit! I couldn't have said it better myself.
And Gaurav, I do use Firefox 3, but will stick with FF2 as my primary for several reasons, as Biscuit noted. Not to intend this as any kind of insult at all, but it's sort of like "downgrading" to WinXP on a Vista machine. It's just not quite ready for prime time.
Foxmarks bookmark sync totally rocks. That's why I'd luv to sync passwords (and extensions).
Thanks to you both for the responses! ~Carol~
