Syncing writes same link for every bookmark
I have an ongoing problem: Every time I am syncing from the server, parts of my bookmarks are overwritten and all have all the same link when finished. The description is not changed. That is highly annoying. I could always save it by overwriting the server from an other machine and then overwrite the messed up local set. All in FF, last 3.0x and now on 3.5. Thanks for your help!

Inappropriate?Hey Franz,
In this situation, what seems to happen is that Firefox fails to save bookmarks properly, so every time you restart the browser, it resets to a previous version of your bookmarks. Xmarks complicates things by synchronizing these changes to all other browsers, but I'm pretty sure it's got a fairly straightforward fix:
In all Firefox browsers you're synchronizing against, visit about:config and search for the setting browser.places.leftPaneFolderId -- usually in a problem browser it's set to -1, and resetting the value (right click value, reset) and restarting Firefox should fix things.
Let me know if you have any additional questions!
Thanks

Inappropriate?Hi Nate,
thanks for answering instantly. You were right, the setting was -1 in all of my browsers (I have no clue why). It is resetted to default now and I will observe it for a while.
I’m thankful
