Thunderbird Mail Filters
I'd like to see a FoxMarks-like addon for Thunderbird to sync up mail filters between computers. Acts just the same way as FoxMarks, probably without the online access to the filters, but more easily merged, added, and kept in sync between many computers.
I'm an IT Engineer, so I have three accounts I'm on all day (laptop, basic work, admin work, plus my home comp). I'd love to be able to sync all the mail filters I have between them. Possibly even my accounts!

Inappropriate?Ahoy matey! (it's International Talk like a Pirate Day today)
We don't current have plans to sync data in Thunderbird, but if we do venture into those waters, we'll be sure to look at filters as one of the candidates to sync.
Thanks for suggesting the idea!

Inappropriate?I would like to second this idea ... I have been searching for something like Foxmarks for my Thunderbird settings for quite a while now. I have three computers I use on a daily basis (laptop, desktop, work), and do not enjoy having to make any change to all three computers at once. If this is ever considered, here are some things that I would enjoy seeing on such a Thunderbird extension:
- Accounts and associated settings (including outgoing email servers)
- Message Filters
- View settings (sort by, threaded, etc)
- Maybe even add-on settings?
I am willing to help out with coding this if you guys have an interest in it ... I currently do not have any experience with Firefox/Thunderbird plugins, but I am always willing to learn :-)

Inappropriate?I have been searching for that, too.
For me it would be useful if i can sync the address book of my thunderbird and my osx mail program.
I have many computers and very often i need all the addresses.
For me it is useful to sync a .ldif file of the address books

Inappropriate?I'm searching for just that type of thing now.
I wonder if it would be easy to just write a script to upload the appropriate dir to an ftp server - and then a second script to download ...

Well, at least my idea hasn't died yet...I hope the Foxmarks team re-evaluates this concept at some point... -
Inappropriate?I would pay good money for an addon to do this. Manually syncing Thunderbird filters take forever! Please!
I’m begging!

Inappropriate?i just posted the same, must be getting blind. I have 4 pc's at home /work and i use them randomly (wichever is nearest) and i miss out on so many things from one machine to another.
It would be so handy to have a thunderbird-add-on that:
-> syncs filters (baselayout for a export plugin is allready there : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thun...
It exports a plain text file. this can easily be incorporated in your services..
and if you test the waters in thunderbird try to get:
-> installation of add-ons synced
-> contacts synced
-> account settings (including the message footer) synced
-> acceptance of certificates synced.
if you get that going it would be the very first thing i would install as a plugin!
please make me happy
I’m anxious
