Why do my bookmarks no longer have URL's?
My bookmarks are syncing "blank" back to my mac. I have a single Mac (snow leopard) syncing Safari bookmarks and a single Win7 machine syncing IE8 bookmarks. when i was only syncing between multiple macs - never had a problem, but now my bookmarks are coming back in the wrong order (after using my win7 machine) and many of the bookmarks are coming back with no URL defined behind the bookmark name.

Inappropriate?Sorry about that! The first thing you can do is use our backup and restore feature to get your working bookmarks back: http://wiki.foxmarks.com/wiki/Product...
After doing that, does syncing still cause URLs to disappear? I've never heard of any bugs like that and would be very interested in tracking it down if you're still seeing it. -
Inappropriate?Hi Colin,
Thanks for the tip, but I'm just a bit more confused than I used to be. Is Xmarks and Foxmarks the same thing?
Further, I had been syncing for a while before I realized what was happening and now have too many new bookmarks and too many blanks to make reverting a viable solution.
I have been unable to determine what behavior causes the "blanks" to occur, but I did notice that it does not happen to bookmarks that I have not used (clicked on) since the last sync.
Did you have any insight into the re-ording of bookmarks on my bookmark bar? I usually have direct links on the left of the bar and bookmark "folders" on the right side. After syncing, my direct bookmark links usually get pushed over to the lefts side and rearranged in alphabetical order.
This has been fairly consistent behavior - occurring on my mac on all syncs AFTER my win7 machine has recently synced.
I’m still frustrated.

Inappropriate? Two things: first, yes Xmarks and Foxmarks are the same thing. We changed our name from Foxmarks to Xmarks earlier this year. :)
Secondly, if your bookmarks are getting reorganized alphabetically, that sounds like an old Xmarks for IE bug that is somehow still causing trouble. The first thing I'd recommend trying is downloading the latest version (1.1). It hasn't been released publicly yet, but you can download it here: https://static.xmarks.com/clients/ie/...
That might help sort things out. If not, I'll have to dig into it some more.
