Why don't my synced passwords appear in Firefox?
Whenever I sync my passwords in Xmarks, the passwords don't appear in Firefox. The sync is successful...how can I get it to work correctly?

Inappropriate?C'mon you guys @ Foxmarks or Xmarks or whatever, HELP US RETRIEVE OUR PASSWORDS...OK?

Inappropriate? It's hard to answer this one without more info, but here's some basic info that might help:
Xmarks can encrypt passwords that you've stored in Firefox and sync them with Firefox passwords on another computer. If Firefox is not configured to store passwords then there will be nothing to sync.
To check this go to Firefox Options > Security Tab and make sure that "Remember passwords for sites" is checked.
Next, go to the Privacy Tab. Is "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox" checked? If it is, click the "Settings..." button to the right. In the list of data types to clear, make sure that "Saved Passwords" is not checked.
Make sure you have that configuration on all computers that you want to use password sync on. Otherwise Firefox will not persistently store your passwords and Xmarks will therefore not have any password data to sync.
Next, on each computer, go to Xmarks Settings > Sync Tab and make sure that "Passwords" is checked under "Synchronization Types".
Now as you use Xmarks to sync across machines it should securely sync any password that you tell Firefox to remember.
Hope that helps,

Maybe some clarification is needed. The passwords sync successfully, but even if they appear in Saved Passwords they do not autopopulate when I go to the websites the passwords are associated with. After I type the username and password in (which has already been synchronized from another computer), they populate just fine from then on. Anyway, it's been nearly 3 weeks since I originally asked this question so the point is moot - I've already retyped all of the passwords on this machine. -
This is a clear bug in Xmarks, and has only been a problems since the Foxmarks->Xmarks "switch", and/or the latest version release.
I've gone through and double checked all of the above suggestions, still have my old/wrong passwords stored in the 2nd computer.
I re-ran the Xmarks setup from the 1st computer (with the correct/current passwords), specified to sync passwords, also specified to over-right data on the server.
I then did the same on the secondary machine, choosing to merge the data/passwords.
After going through the passwords that Xmarks found where there was a discrepancy, I checked the saved passwords in Firefox (version 3 btw). Still the old/out-of-date passwords. Cache shouldn't be an issue as I don't use it in Firefox. -
Inappropriate?Same problem here. They sync fine, but it doesn't appear to be doing me any good, as I just have to re-enter all my passwords anyway.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? The same thing happened when I intalled firefox 3.5!
While I had the beta 3 and the tecnical preview installed simutaneously with the stable version, it would be ok in ff 3 but in 3.5 two thirds of my passwords would not appear. I thought this would change afterwards but obviously this bug has gone unnoticed and the problem persists in the Release Candidate 2, which replaced my ff3 installation and now I don't know how to retrieve all these passwords! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!!
I’m helpless!!!!!

Inappropriate?Hey JimmyX,
I've seen a few cases now that upgrading to Firefox 3.5 has corrupted your Firefox profile, specifically your bookmark and password store. You can create a new profile by following these directions:

Hope that helps! -
Inappropriate? Is there any xmarks update to this issue? I just installed firefox 3.5.5 completely fresh, installed xmarks and logged in. When I synced both bookmarks and passwords, only bookmarks came down from the server. I chose to overwrite all local data with the server copy.
The instructions above don't exactly match the new firefox options but I'm not sure it matters if firefox clears the passwords on shutdown. They never populate to begin with.
Is there a "my passwords" page like the "my bookmarks" page where I can confirm the passwords are getting uploaded in the first place?
How else can I help you help me?

I can confirm this. Bookmarks sync nicely, passwords do not. -
