Inappropriate?Hi Mitchell,
Can you give us a little more information on what occurred. Are you saying that you went to the download page and clicked on the download link but your browser wouldn't download the file?
Also
1) What type of operating system are you running (windows, mac, linux, etc)
2) What browser (including version number are you using. -
well Mikes, I went to the download page and clicked on the download link, the browser showed it downloading in the add-on window, then it stated that it must restart, I clicked the restart button. When the browser window came back up and I went to the add-ons (extensions) it is not there. The ability to do any of the features of XMarks is not there. The symbols referring to XMarks are not there. There is no evidence of XMarks' download. I have tried to download numerous times and each time it does the same and in the end is not there. I have even uninstalled FireFox and tried to install XMarks upon reinstallation of FireFox.
I have a desktop computer and xmarks works fine on it. But without having it on my laptop there is no way to sync my bookmarks.
The laptop is Windows Vista and the Desktop is XP. Help if you can I would like to continue to use your product. -
Inappropriate? Can you tell me what link you're downloading it from? And can you tell me what browser and version you're using (e.g. Firefox 3.5.3 or IE 8.0, etc)

Inappropriate?I am using Firefox 3.5.3.
I have downloaded it from the XMarks site. http://download.xmarks.com/download
and I have also tried https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire...
of course the second site is version 3.3.2 and the first site is 3.3.3. Neither works for me though. -

Inappropriate?Ok, good information.
There appear to be a few different reasons why Firefox might be unable to install an extension. Check out the instructions in this topic:

Inappropriate?Wow, none of that stuff worked? I'm perplexed.
This really sounds like an issue with Firefox's ability to install extensions in general. Can you try installing a different extension and seeing if it works? -
Inappropriate?I have added other extensions with no problems. It is just xmarks that doesn't work. I am beginning to think that I am just going to have to find another program to do what I want.
If there is an suggestion to work I would be happy to continue using XMarks and Firefox. Otherwise I guess I will have to change. -
Inappropriate?Hi Mikes
Hope you can help with exactly the same problem.
I have Windows 7 64-bit and Xmarks pretends to install but isn't there after restart (after trying all the suggested tips and tricks). It works fine in Windows 7 32-bit. Firefox 3.5.5
Perhaps that's where the problem lies?
Hope you can solve this. Oh yes, Xmarks for IE has installed fine, though Xmarks for Firefox won't install even after I've exited from Xmarks for IE on the status bar
