Xmarks 3.1.0 on firefox 3.5.1 / vista 32 keeps asking for password
Xmarks on firefox 3.5.1 / vista 32 keeps asking for password. (password of xmarks account)
sometimes xmarks asks password, via popup when I modify my bookmarks.
giving password via popup doesn't work;
giving password in xmarks settings dialog doesn't work with "Remember this password between sessions" checked.
giving password in xmarks settings dialog WORKS with "Remember this password between sessions" unchecked. Anyway, after changing again bookmarks, the problem persists.
Moreover, if I write the password in the setting dialog, it isn't remembered next time I open it.
I had this problem after a recent xmarks update (now I have xmarks version 3.1.0, on firefox 3.5.1 and windows vista 32 Ultimate SP 1)
obviously, the answer given in similar posts, "turn off automatic update" is not a solution of the problem...
will you fix this ? bookmarks are alright, I wouldn't like to change profile, reinstall firefox or similar.

Inappropriate?I have this exact problem as well! Currently working on finding a solution. I believe it has something to do with xmarks using the Firefox password manager to store the password. I am using Lastpass to manage my passwords, so I disabled the built-in Firefox password manager. I tried re-enabling it in order to store the xmarks password, but it didn't work.
It is possible that FF's password manager files have been corrupted, perhaps reinstalling Firefox or creating a new profile will solve the problem. I would rather not reinstall if there is another solution.
Edit: forgot to mention, I'm using Firefox 3.5.3 and Xmarks 3.3.2.
I’m frustrated
