Inappropriate?Hi T,
I've been running Windows 7 RC1 with Xmarks for a while with no problems.
Can you provide us with more info? For example:
- are you running Xmarks for Firefox, Internet Explorer, or both?
Where are you clicking on favorite icons - in your browser or in the Windows desktop / shell?
Thanks,
James -
James, Thanks for your reply. I am only running xmarks for IE now. I am clicking on the faviorites in the favorites toolbar at the top. Their working ok in xp on my other machine and if I drag a new one to the toolbar they work ok on 7. I did a reset in Internet options/advanced but it did not change anything. I looked for others with the same problem but did not find any.

Inappropriate?IE does support dragging files to the Favorites Bar. Right click on a favorite and choose properties. In the resulting dialog the "General" tab should tell you the type of file (see image below). It should say "Internet Shortcut (.url)" if it's actually a favorite / bookmark.
If it is a .url file and it's opening an image program, it means some application on your PC (probably the image program), changed the "Default Program" setting for .url files.
To change those go to the start menu, type "Default Programs", go there and then choose "Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program" and set .url to be opened by Internet Explorer.
Hope that helps,
-James

Inappropriate? That is what it is set at. I am not sure what is going on. I might just go back to XP. Thanks
