Xmarks: Firefox 3 freezes while synchronizing
Until yesterday Xmarks worked like a charm.
But when I started the computer today, suddenly synchronizing with xmark doesn't work anymore. (firefox 3).
Firefox freezes while synchronizing (tried several times).
Hope someone knows a solution.

Inappropriate?Nowadays, Firefox also freezes while synchronizing. If I let it be, it usually recovers after waiting a while.
Will you start using Workers once Firefox 3.5 is out? That way, synchronizing can be done in the background, without freezing the main UI.

Martijn is correct in that if you wait for a bit, usually the sync will complete. Large bookmark sets and network connectivity are factors in syncs taking awhile. This occurs on Windows machines as well, when multiple programs are competing for CPU time. Let me know if you are unable to complete a sync after waiting for a bit.

Err...I meant Friday? :P Sorry for the delay, we've all been quite busy. To answer your question, we are looking at using worker threads, but it'll take quite a bit of restructuring in our code, so it make take a bit of time. We'll definitely let everyone know if/when that's complete in a blog post. So feel free to periodically check up on our blogs! (blog.xmarks.com)

this happened to me more than once and as I feared its a threading/locking problem. My firefox hung for >1min or so while sync was in progress. My guess is its linear with the number of bookmarks you have and are syncing. It bites, but if its fixed in 3.5 I will wait, I don't like the alternative. :(
