Xmarks Alert
Xmarks is already processing an action (sync), no changes can be made until it is finished!
But i think it has downloaded my bookmarks at least once, i have some of my newer bookmarks in chrome.

Inappropriate?Hi,
Are you still seeing issues? If you are, can you check the Xmarks log file and see if there are any error messages? Unfortunately accessing the log file is a bit of a pain (I'm working on improving it!). For now you need to go to chrome://extensions/ and click the "Inspect" button for Xmark's background.html view. The console can be toggled using the buttons at the bottom of the inspector.
If the bottom right of the console has a little red number, then an error happened somewhere (the error should be in red). If you could send the error line it might help me track it down. -
Inappropriate?I uninstalled it because it deleted all my bookmarks from my bookmark bar.
Now i cant install it again for some reason.
I’m confused

Do you get any errors or anything when you try to reinstall it? -
Inappropriate?i did not need to reinstall i found that i had ton of different bookmarks in firefox and in crome clean them up and they sync fine just need a spring cleaning

Inappropriate?I see remarks that xmarks Chrome Alpha was uninstalled but, I can't find a single option to remove it. The alpha is in a fight with my other computer so each time I log on it makes another set from the computer I logged in on. Now the bookmarks are a complete mess and useless. I just want to uninstall the chrome alpha and start over without chrome. Any help would be great.

The easiest way to uninstall is to go to chrome://extensions/ and click the uninstall button for our extension.
As for the busted bookmarks, sorry about that! Fortunately you can use our backup and restore feature on http://my.xmarks.com to go back to a less busted version, if you want. More details are here: http://wiki.foxmarks.com/wiki/Product... -
Inappropriate?I'm getting the "Xmarks is already processing an action (sync), no changes can be made until it is finished!" message as well. I went to the console and cleared it, then waited until the pop-up showed again. The only thing in the console is this:
chrome-extension://ajpgkpeckebdhofmmjfgcjjiiejpodla/xmarks-global.js:207Triggering auto-sync
That doesn't look like an error to me. The only thing I've been doing while waiting was browsing the web as normal (checking email, reading a blog, etc.). I hope that sheds some light, I guess. I'm on XP if that makes a difference.
I’m confused by a weird error message.

Thanks for the info. That line means that we're attempting to do a sync. Unfortunately, something earlier happened that put the extension in an unhappy state, and to protect itself from messing up any further it won't let any other syncs happen. The easiest way to reset things is to restart Chrome.
If you still see errors after restarting there should be an error message somewhere near the top of the log output. -
Here's the two errors I saw this morning when I checked:
Error during bookmarks.create: Invalid URL.
Error during bookmarks.create: Index out of bounds.
Immediately preceding it was this line:
No local match found for [rZQXU2], creating new bookmark
and a reference to xmarks-global.js line 207.
However, in the panes above the console, there's a red arrow pointing at line 264, which is this: self.AddToMap(newBookmark.id, parentNode.nid); According to the variables displayed on the right, newBookmark is undefined (a problem?). I hope that helps some. -
Thanks for the information! I released an update this morning (0.4.19) that might have fixed this. Let me know if you're still running into problems after upgrading. -
Inappropriate?I really just want to uninstall xmarks Chrome Alpha completely. I can't find any option to simply remove it.

Sorry you're running in to problems, I'm fixing them as fast as I can. :)

Inappropriate? Thanks Colin! I understand this is an alpha release and it's going to have issues. I'll try it again when it gets to the beta. Great work so far. Just a little too buggy for me right now.
I’m back to normal!

Inappropriate?same problem here, although it does sync, just from time to time I keep getting this error - "Xmarks is already processing an action (sync), no changes can be made until it is finished!". Usually after my laptop comes back from sleep.

This seems to be the most common error so far, I've added a post dedicated to it: http://getsatisfaction.com/foxmarks/t...
