XMarks for IE unable to authenticate when syncing.
XMarks for IE unable to authenticate when syncing. It has never synced. New installation of XMarks for IE. The applications says it is logged in. Clicking on the Synchronize now button or the Download button produces a dialog box that asks for my XMarks user name and password. What ever I type in there does not work. XMarks for Firefox, on the same computer, works great.
What do I do to fix this?

Inappropriate?Hi,
It looks like Xmarks for IE is having a hard time connecting to our authentication server. This may happen because there is a firewall blocking the HTTPS connection. One thing you can try doing is going to the advanced Xmarks for IE settings and try disabling the authentication setting. Trying doing a sync or download after that, hopefully the requests will get through.

What you said makes no sense and does not exist or I cannot find it. If you disable authentication, how would XMarks know who I am? Or are you saying that there really is no authentication. XMarks will return anyone's information with only a user id?
OR did you mean to say disable Encryption? In which case, I did and it did work. However, this is not acceptable. Without encryption the data is insecure.
This sounds like a bug to me. -

It's difficult to get Encryption (HTTPS) to work with every computer and network configuration that's out there. Is it possible to describe your computer setup, possible firewalls, anti-virus programs, and proxies? With that information we might be able to come up with a solution for you.
