XMarks keeps throwing up a dialogue box on Mac OS X.
WIth XMarks, I now get dialogue boxes asking me how I want the sync to be performed. Why isn't this a preference I don't have to worry about except when I want to?

Inappropriate?Hello J,
If you already have an existing Xmarks account and are adding another computer, the first time you sync on that new computer we need to ask you how to reconcile your existing bookmarks that you already synced with the bookmarks on your new computer; should they be merged, or should one replace the other? This should only happen rarely, after adding a new computer the first time, or if you replace your bookmark set from another computer. You should not be getting this dialog every time. Have you tried going ahead and merging your bookmarks (the safest option) to see if this dialog stops bothering you. -
Inappropriate? It's stopped doing it after two(?) times, so it isn't continuing.
OTOH, while I've got you, why does Xmarks update my bookmarks when I haven't changed anything? Is it tracking RSS feeds that I have in the menubar? -
Inappropriate?J - glad to hear the dialog got itself sorted out.
Sometimes Xmarks gets a spurious sync event from Safari telling us "hey, the bookmarks changed" even when nothing happened. It's annoying but harmless; we hope to add extra checks in an upcoming release to make this not happen. -
Inappropriate?I checked the log. It keeps detecting a sync from various Mail.app daemons (Notes, etc), even though nothing is changing, because I don't use any of that stuff in Mail.
