Xmarks Pop up
Xmarks Pop up. Every 2 minutes I get a pop up window from Xmarks asking for my password. The caption on the pop up reads "Please enter your username and password to continue." It interrupts my use and I am disgusted with this problem.

Inappropriate?Hey Ash,
There are two things you can do for this. First, you can enter your Xmarks username and password into the pop-up, and then check the "remember this password between sessions" box. This will let Xmarks seamlessly sync your bookmarks in the background.
If you don't want to authenticate for each browser session, you can turn auto synchronization off. To do so, go to Tools->Xmarks->Settings-> Sync Tab and uncheck "Enable Auto Sync." However, with this option, you'll have to perform manual syncs to keep your bookmarks up to date.
Hope this helps! -
Inappropriate?Doesn't work cannot save password even if I click save password. Sometimes after an autoupdate has been done by windows, I will come in and find that I have 4 or 5 of these pop-ups where Foxmarks for IE has tried multiple times to connect.

Inappropriate?Yep, same problem here since the upgrade to version 3.1.0.
Xmarks now forces me to log in when I launch Firefox (Portable Firefox 3.0.10) and during the session --- even though the "remember this password" box is checked.
It used to automatically sync in the background but doesn't appear to be doing so now... it appears to pop the login dialog when it wants to sync, because it isn't remembering my password so I have to log in every time.
The other annoying aspect of that is it won't leave me alone if I click Cancel (instead of entering my password and clicking OK). It pops the login dialog repeatedly at least once per minute until I actually log in. What a nag!
I should note that I've been a satisfied Foxmarks user for a couple of years, so it's not as though I'm unfamiliar with the settings and options. It's worked just fine until this upgrade.
But now it's annoying and disruptive.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I have the same experience as FoxCole. It doesn't remember your password even if you have it checked to do so. And it also won't let you cancel, it just keeps popping up until you enter your password. Is there a fix coming for this?

Inappropriate?"Xmarks employees are here to help" says the little green box at the top of this page. I haven't had any responses, ever, to any of my posts here, so I'm wondering, *who* are they here to help?
It would be nice if one of them would at least pop in and comment on whether this problem has been reviewed and what its status might be.
Xmarks isn't the only bookmark manager out there; it's just always been the one I preferred for ease of use and functionality, until now. Forced manual synching is a pain you-know-where and is NOT a satisfactory workaround.
The security module is broken and needs to be fixed. That's fundamental functionality and there's no excuse for it to not work properly for all users. No other website or software has ever had this problem, that I've ever seen. Something was changed in the new release that broke how login information is saved. Let's have someone look at it, please!
I’m fed up, bitter about being persistently ignored. And gone.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem but, only on one of my computers...the one running XP. The computer running Vista runs fine. I have also E-Mailed the Help Desk and although they promise to get back to you in several days, it's been more than a week and no reply as yet. Maybe they don't know how to fix this but it's really annoying
