Xmarks sync for Firefox and IE on same computer?
I have to use both Firefox and IE7 on the same PC. I've installed the Firefox add-on 3.1.1 and installed Xmarks for IE 1.0.11. When I try to Sync from task bar (Xmarks 1.0.11 I get error "XmarksException [source windopws: id 6]; Error couldn't create new INI file: \\?\C:\<...>Favorites\<fave-name>.url
Have tried the troubleshooting recommendations, and download and merge sync. Are 3.1.1 and 1.0.11 incompatible? Can I sync only on ebrowser type per PC or is there some magic I can apply? Thanks!</fave-name>

Inappropriate?Hey Jim,
Thanks for your comment! Xmarks for Firefox and IE are compatible, but we've had some challenges with the different data types that both browsers support. To start off the troubleshooting, can you navigate to the path that you've posted using windows explorer, and if that file is there on your hard-drive, can you try and manually delete it? If you can, try another download from advanced settings in IE, and see if that gets you back up and running.
Otherwise, we'll continue to troubleshoot!

Inappropriate?Thanks for your fast reply.
Have deleted the specific Favorite URL. Then get a failure on another Favorite URL with error id 6.
Have deleted all content from the Favorites folder. Then tried a Download. Now getting an error id 32 at another URL.
Previously Xmarks seemed to download all the Favorites along with some duplicates, but give an error at end of process. Now the Downlioad stops at the file indicated in the error and the download stops there. The Favorite where process stops appears to be a shortcut file, but without content. When attempt to open the file directly get: "The target "" of the shortcut is not valid."
Thanks -- Jim
