Recently active topics in friendfeed about FriendFeed

I think it would make a valuable addition to the list of services Friendfeed collects. Not that I'm biased in any way. :)

Please add Google Panoramio support. It has personal pages that can be used to fetch informations just like you already do with Flickr.

Would be nice to reply at a comment in a discussion (just like intensedebate does). Discussions will be easier to read.

My feed is getting a lot of duplicates since I post microblogs with ping.fm to many different services that I've added to my feed. This is causing headache to those who follow me. I think I'm just going to remove some of the services for a while, but I'd like friendfeed to recognize and remove duplicates. For example, if I post "I just saw the fail whale!" to both Twitter and Plurk, I'd like them to be grouped so that people following my feed won't get both of them showing up, but only one and maybe a link to the other post next to it. How about it?

Posterous.com is on the up-and-up. It's a great little site, and being used quite heavily in the tech-savvy world. 'Twould be great to have it on the list.

Would be nice to have another "view" of my feeds that merges all the feeds into one and organizes them based on how many friends talked about them. Example:

mike links a lolcatXYZ blog post.
eryn links the same lolcatXYZ
bill make a post about lolcatXXX
stephen comments lolcatXXX post
I commented on lolcatXYZ entry on eryn friendfeed.

i would have a view of my feeds as follows:

1) post lolcatXYZ (me commented on this post, mike and eryn posted about it)
2) lolcatXXX (bill and stephen posted about it)
3) all the next feeds with no particular relvance ordered by date as it is now.

There have been concerns raised[1] that discussion on FF takes away from discussion at the source (e.g. a blog post is linked and discussed on FF rather than in the comments of that post).

Why not deal with this the way that blogs normally do, with pingbacks? Whenever a new link is added to FF, FF just pings that URL back. If it's a blog, a pingback will appear in the comments linking to the FF discussion, just as it would link to a post in another blog.

But it gets better. If FF pings *all* URLs back, other services can choose to accept pingbacks too.

For example, if someone on FF linked to this GS issue, and GS accepted pingbacks, a link to the FF discussion would appear below. I would get a notification via GS, and I could choose to follow the link. Anyone else visiting the issue on GS could do likewise. Anyone on FF might follow the original link back and contribute to GS (e.g. if someone resolved the issue I would come back here and say so).

Now, this last issue depends on whether individual sites want to support external links[2], but many blog engines *already* support this, and for this reason alone I think it would be a worthwhile feature.

I love the new beta Friendfeed. Thanks to the live feature I no longer need client side software like Twhirl. I just wish I could collapse the right sidebar so that the content expands the full window width. This is especially helpful on smaller screens like mobiles, netbooks, or just resized windows.
